Should I be Avoiding Exercise If I Have Asthma?

Exercise is part of being healthy, exercise is no less important for those with asthma.

In fact, getting enough exercise is even more important for asthmatics than for the general population.

Unfortunately, too many children with asthma were asked to sit out of the games and sports their classmates participated in. This was approached incorrectly as known that exercise is very important, both for general health and in fighting the effects of asthma.

With asthma attacks being hard on the lungs and the surrounding muscles, one of the dangers is fatigue, which may then trigger additional attacks and makes the asthmatics fight to breathe even more difficult.

Strong muscles are needed for breathing so as to the onset of fatigue and to combat asthma, and one of the results of regular exercise is stronger muscles and lungs.

Where as in the past asthmatic were advised not to exercise, asthmatics should exercise as they can enjoyably manage.

With the your doctors advice and treatment, as well as training and your own self-discipline the problems of exercising and asthma can usually be overcome.

What is true for children is also true for adults.
